Detailed Job Description

Job Title Regional Manager
Location: Various
Job Description: Recruit, train and manage RS Medical's field Account Managers within a region. Provide to management all required reports and supportive information regarding competitors, payors and physician organizations that may affect RS Medical within the region. Assist in the development of programs and policies related to the field sales organization. Display positive leadership qualities to all RS Medical employees and customers.
Responsibilities: Recruiting responsibilities

Build RS Medical's sales resources in the region in accordance with the national revenue forecast.
  • Recruit new and replacement Account Managers as defined by the national revenue forecast
  • Determine markets to be filled and obtain approval from the Area Director of Sales
  • Receive and score candidate applications
  • Conduct telephone and face-to-face interviews of candidates; determine which candidates will attend final round of interviews
  • Attend and fully participate in group final interviews
  • Perform reference checks on prospective Account Managers
  • Obtain approval from Area Director of Sales prior to extending an offer of employment verbally, and request a formal offer letter be sent by Sales Management Admin Assistant
Training responsibilities

Develop Account Managers' skills through training so they can successfully attain their revenue targets.
  • Participate in the development of training materials and lecture content as requested by the National Sales Training Manager
  • Conduct classroom training as requested by the National Sales Training Manager
  • Participate in social activities with new hires as requested by the National Sales Training Manager
  • Identify specialized training needs of Account Managers in the region and forward these needs to the Area Director of Sales and/or VP of Sales
Field travel responsibilities

To provide in-person contact with Account Managers to ensure they have the needed coaching and teamwork to feel supported by the company.
  • Field travel of approximately 50% (market dependent)
  • One field work contact day minimum per quarter with each Account Manager in the region
  • One field work contact day minimum per month with each Account Manager in the region who is on Kick Start Activity Management or Performance Plan
  • One field work contact day minimum per month with each Account Manager in the region employed with the company for fewer than three months
  • Attend National, Regional and local medical conferences as directed by the VP of Sales or Area Director of Sales
  • Call on payors within region as coordinated with Area Director of Sales
  • Attend RS Medical national and regional meetings
Administrative responsibilities

To ensure that each Account Manager performs their necessary administrative responsibilities timely and effectively.
  • Track and manage Sales Notes activity of each region Account Manager in conjunction with Sales Ops
  • Track and manage inventory levels of each region Account Manager
  • Control expenses per company policy and Project Compliance
  • To help insure that AM's are using the information systems available on the intranet site
  • Responsibility for any FSR's assigned to Account Managers in each region
  • Daily checking of E-mails and voicemails
Special projects

Assist and provide input into the development of policies and procedures of the company as needed.
  • Participate in program development meetings
  • Participate in policy development meetings
  • Participate in meeting planning meetings
  • Participate in product planning meetings
Reporting responsibilities

Report to the Area Director of Sales the activities, plans, concerns, competitive issues and other business-related situations in the region.
  • Submit a monthly region recap to the Area Director of Sales
Qualifications A Regional Manager for RS Medical must be a positive, forward-thinking individual who possesses the ability to work as part of an effective team, who thinks about the best interests of the company, can demonstrate a superior work ethic, understands and demonstrates leadership and is results oriented. The individual must also possess the following qualifications.
  • Minimum of three years direct sales management experience
  • Sales of surgical equipment and/or prescribed products to physicians
  • Sales personnel training expertise
  • Extensive business travel experience
  • Knowledge of electrotherapy products an advantage
  • Effective communication, verbal and written
  • Genuine interest and/or history in managing people
  • Fit with current management team
  • Success in the field
  • Command and presence
  • Positive attitude
  • College degree or equivalent
