A History of Innovation

1990

Founded With the RS-1
The first four muscle stimulator, named the RS-1, was developed by RS Medical in 1990.

2000

RS-4i is Released
The RS-4i was the first of its kind to introduce dual modality, four channel interferential and muscle stimulation.

A Breakthrough with Premodulation
The development of premodulation is what allowed the RS-4i to transition between 4 channel interferential and muscle stimulation without the patient having to remove and reposition electrodes.

Pulse Width Control Is Perfected
We were able to perfect the pulse width control in the RS-4i, which enabled it to reach both slow and fast twitch muscle fibers, causing a complete muscle contraction.

2004

Introduction of Garments
The Low Back Garment was introduced in 2004, helping patients easily place electrodes without assistance.

2005

1 Million Patients
We hit a milestone of 1 million patients treated 5 years after the release of the RS-4i.

2017

Patented Intersperse Technology
Intersperse was developed and patented in 2017, shortening treatment times by combining Interferential pain relief and rehabilitative muscle stimulation in a single treatment.

2025

30,000 Assessment Results
We have been collecting patient results since 2015. In 2025, we hit a benchmark of 30,000 patient results collected with 84% reporting pain relief after 30 days of treatment.
