RS-4i Plus – 950-0036-00

The RS-4i Plus Combines Two Therapies with Intersperse
Twice the Therapy
Unlike other devices that only offer a single type of therapy, the RS-4i Plus features a powerful combination of high-frequency (5,000 Hz) Interferential Therapy (IFT) and Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES).
Why are Two Therapies Better?
IFT and NMES act on different nerve groups. IFT targets the nerves responsible for sending pain signals, while NMES targets motor nerves in the muscle tissue. With both, the RS-4i Plus delivers the dynamic duo of pain relief and muscle rehabilitation that less sophisticated devices can’t provide.
Combining Both Therapies
The RS-4i Plus combines both therapies using a patented technology called Intersperse. During an Intersperse session, IFT pain relief signals are inserted between contractions in the NMES muscle treatment. In this way, the patient gets intermittent contraction, then pain relief, then contraction throughout the duration of a session – enabling shorter, more comfortable and more impactful treatments.
Breaking Down an RS-4i Plus Treatment
Pain Relief
RS-4i Plus Intersperse treatments begin with 5 minutes of Interferential Therapy (IFT), where the transmission of pain signals to the brain are blocked by a high-frequency signal that hyper-stimulates A-beta nerve fibers. Treatment can help relieve acute musculoskeletal pain or relieve and manage chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Muscle Rehabilitation
After IFT knocks down the pain, the RS-4i Plus shifts to 5 minutes of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES). During this segment, the RS-4i Plus delivers a custom signal that causes the treated muscle to involuntarily contract, relaxing muscle spasms, preventing or slowing muscle atrophy, increasing circulation, and maintaining or increasing range of motion.
Intersperse
Intersperse is the third and most unique segment, which combines IFT and NMES. During this 25-minute treatment, pain relief signals are delivered during the relax period of muscle stimulation – giving the patient a repeating pattern of intermittent contraction, then pain relief, then contraction. This patented intermixing of treatments provokes a beta-endorphin release that provides pain relief up to 8 hours.
Taking a Treatment
Once prescribed, an RS Medical Representative will provide one-on-one patient instruction on how to use the RS-4i Plus. We also have an Interactive Pad Placement Guide for easy reference on where to place electrodes.
