Rehabilitative Muscle Therapy with the RS-4s

Custom Waveform

The RS-4s NMES signal is unlike other muscle stimulation devices because it uses an adjustable, custom square/asymmetrical spiked waveform with a frequency of 71 Hz.

Activating Both Fast- and Slow-Twitch Muscle Fibers

The custom NMES waveform enables the RS-4s to stimulate a broader range of muscle fibers. This includes both the easy to recruit fast-twitch fibers, such as those in the arms and lower legs, and the difficult to reach slow-twitch fibers, such as those in the lower back and upper legs.

Complete Contractions for Greater Therapeutic Benefit

The RS-4s also delivers pain relief via Interferential Therapy (IFT), which is designed to allow patients to tolerate a stronger muscle contraction — expelling metabolic waste and delivering a supply of oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to the muscles. More complete contractions result in greater therapeutic benefit and a beneficial side-effect is that patients experience supplemental pain relief.
